Group Break: Padres

I've finally got everything for the group break sorted, I've scanned the nice stuff, and I've packed it all up.  They should be going out soon.  In the meantime, let's go team-by-team and show off the goods.  Of course, we will be started with the lowest salary team and working our way up to the evil empire.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Team: Padres
Buyer: Chris of Old Foul Cardboard

When picking up the Padres, you typically expect to land a couple of Tony Gwynns:

And with any team, you hope to get some insert/parallels/minis/die cuts/numbered/etc.:

#107/700 and #59/60
The Blanks is a nice black refractor #/60, which would have been the best card for the Padres if not for this:

How about that: first team, first hit and it's a HOFer.  The back of the cards says the swatch was part of his Celebrity All-Star Softball jersey.  Way cool.  This card came out of a hobby pack of 2005 Topps that I picked up at a hobby shop in Roanoke, VA for $1.  You can't beat that.

Padres Totals:
Base: 95
Parallels: 10
Inserts: 4
Hits: 1 Relic

Kyle Blanks is awesome. I mean, not in the "he's an awesome player" kind of way, but in a "I like most of his cards" kind of a way. He's done away with the mini-fro that sticks out of his hat in his more recent cards, but I love that his expression matches his name. Totally Blank.
