On the First Day of Cardmas, My Mistress Gave to Me...

...A Baseball Gem of the Game!

This is a great way to start the Cardmas series.  Each box has one graded card, which will likely be spectacularly unexciting.

As for the ten packs, I got these:

Nothing too surprising.  The Bowman Chrome is alright and Masterpieces always look nice.

Standard Topps fare.

Decent Heritage pack with a nice Mays and a couple of Kershaw faces.

2010 Upper Deck Ballparks subset is one of the best subsets ever.  Triple play stickers are good fun.  Barry Bonds is the best player to ever play the game. 756 is probably a good HRH card to get.

One of the Topps packs was an all-Walmart-blue blaster bonus pack.  Nice surprise there.

I've said it before, but I love the YSL cards.  They make good sellable lots, too.

I picked up some cards for my PC as well.  The Verlander is one of the most perfect cards ever made.

Before I get to the graded gem, there were two gems that fell out of the packs.

This is a Darvish image variation.  Love the shot of him signing autos.

The second gem is a great looking Dodger card.  It's a Blue Refractor #/150.

Lastly, we get to the graded gem:

Wow, this doesn't disappoint.  Riplen is fantastic, and graded junk wax is beautiful, especially when it's marked "10" but has a very obviously dinged corner.  Great work, Beckett.

Well, that does it for the first day of Cardmas, see you tomorrow!
