Moneyball-inspired Group Break!!!

Okay, so you may remember the post where I showed this picture:

Well, I have added a few more blasters (1 UD Heroes, 1 2008 UD X, 1 2009 UD APOH, and 1 2010 Upper Deck) and a few more loose packs to the mix recently, and plan to add some more.  The current count is roughly 250 packs (~2000 cards). What is the meaning of all this madness?

Group break!

What do you need to know:

1. All of these packs have been opened. I have opened them and put the cards back in the packaging because I didn't have time to sort them.  That doesn't mean that it is all crap.  There is some really good stuff in there.  The 3 Spectrum blasters, 2 APOH blasters, UD X blaster, and 2011 UD blaster each have guaranteed jersey cards.  Off the top of my head, I remember 2 autos somewhere in the loose packs.  The 3 Topps Update blasters each have manupatches.

2. I will be keeping cards from my wantlists.  Don't let this discourage you either.  The only major chunks that fit my wantlists are 2008 UD Heroes base cards, 2008 UD X Gold Die Cuts and Xponentials, and 2006 Fleer Tradition. Any dupes will go back into the break.  The minor chunks would be players I collect and any Topps Giveaway codes.   To make up for that, I will replace every card I take with a comparable card.  I can tell you for a fact that there are very few cards I will be needing to replace.

3. I will not guarantee that you will get a hit, but I will try to make sure you have a "pretty good" card, at least.  I will guarantee that you will get at least 50 cards.  I will do my best to make sure you get good value.  I will add to your stack from my collection if you or I feel it is insufficient.

4. Non-baseball and non-sport cards will be randomed or drafted depending on how many people are in the break. If they are hits, they will only be randomed to non-hit teams. Multiteam cards will be randomed (unless only 1 of the teams was purchased).

The best part of this break is that I am doing it regardless of how many teams are purchased.  If only one teams is sold, so be it.

"But Spankee, why do you say it is Moneyball-inspired in the title?"

Well, my friends, that is because the entry bids for purchasing teams are based on the team's salary.

According to my source, the lowest salary this years is the Royals at $36,126,000.  The highest is, of course, the Yankees at $202,689,028. I will set opening bids on the Royals at $8 and the Yankees at $20.  The Yankees have Yankee Stadium Legacy cards in many of the packs, so they are well deserving of the top spot. I've taken the rest of the teams' salaries and used linear interpolation to figure out what their price should be.  I've then rounded the answer to the nearest dollar.
