One thing about it really bothered me, so I fixed it:

The swatch should be more centered and definitely turned to look more like home plate and less like a cheap Powerpoint shape (not that the overall design is blowing open the doors of advanced graphics). Really, though, at one relic/auto per bow, the relics should really look like this:

I really like what you did there, but I think you missed something. You should have quotes around "game," "used," and "memorabilia." Hell, just put quotes around the jersey and save time.
Plus, the registered symbol by Tigers is WAY TOO small. Should be at least a 24point font.
I say center Verlander and get rid of the swatch all together.
I agree with AdamE. Totally don't care about the swatch. Do like the rest of the design. Quite a bit.
AdamE and Night Owl: If I redesigned it to a simple insert card that wasn't made for a swatch and didn't contain questionable material, it would no longer be a Topps card.
