Every now and then, a card comes along...

...that you must have.  Not like, "Hey David Wright has 82 cards in this years Topps, I need to get those."  I'm talking the kind of card that is the perfect fit for your collection.  Play at the Plate just recently landed one of these with his '51 Bowman Campanella.  If you haven't gone by his blog to see, you really should.  It's one of those all-time great cards.  I'm talking about a card that you can't not buy. The kind of card that you are almost angry it exists because you have to spend whatever amount will put it on your doorstep.

Some of you may have seen that 2012 Upper Deck football has College Mascot patch cards that come 4-per-case.  One of the mascots they chose was the HokieBird.  Like I said...perfect fit for my collection.  Fortunately, the HokieBird is a 1:99 packs Mascot, and not one of the super rare 1:7,000 packs Mascots.  I was able to get mine for around $13 shipped.  Believe it or not, that's the third most I've ever spent on a single card.

This is truly the cornerstone to my VT collection.  The patch on this is very well done with the HokieBird raised up from the background.  I am absolutely in love with this card. It will be proudly on display in my Hokie Room.

I really like that card. I can't love it but I do really like it. Does Cav Man happen to be in that set?

Thanks for the plug. I'll have to check and see if Bevo is in there for the Longhorns. If so, my son will want it.

I've never seen these before. I'm off to eBay to find Oski for my CAL PC... thanks for sharing.
